I your humble follower, am amazed at your grasp of the past and research of it. I learned to program on the commodore with a cassette tape hard drive. I wrote my first gui using dos code, creating a shell under wich other programs would start and end returning the user to a pull down menu system. It was difficult line by line coding using a combination of basic and dbaseII and dos. I hated IBM with my very soul, simply because they had invented dos. I here bill gates himself did much of the original coding. He wanted it bad I guess.

I am told tha at one point IBM realized they had been beaten by apple and decided to spend more money to advertise as opposed to building a better product. if you watch much t.v. you will notice a new commercial for apple vs. windows that has the same theme.

The truth it seems is not to be toyed with. Americans will no matter what else find the better product and consume it. We will better our children by finding the best school, just ask anybody who owns a house in the wrong school district. We will find the best teacher in that school and do what it takes to get our child in that class. Ask me,I moved and then fought like a union organizer to get one of my kids in the best 3rd grade teachers class. Only to find out that had I remained in my previous digs my child would have been "bussed to an all white school", and as such been in the best school in town, with a nationally recognized teacher.

Sorry I made a short story long, what I meant to say was; Ahmen brother Gar me and mine are staying here, waiting for the next sermon. Can I get a witness!

I remanin,

Bravo, Mr. Green, Bravo! This has to be one of the most insightful pieces you have shared with all of your many regular readers.

Lewis and Clark, as with Columbus, the Wright Brothers, Neil Armstrong, and even Linus Torvalds have all had to deal with the "snakes" on the path. Most of those snakes strike because of the change to their minuscule environment. A change that they are either unwilling or unable to understand/except.

Suck out the remaining venom, check the immediate area for other slithering strikers, and continue exploring, because education technology NEEDS more people like you.

My brother recently joined a small solar technology business to learn some fundamentals of the industry, and to practice his salesmanship. The entry price has been cheap: my brother only needs to drive to the factory. No prior training necessary.

My brother has discovered that the business is likely to remain small. The business owner is trying to launch this business without understanding there is a digital global economy. The owner is still on a dial-up modem at home and at work; he is 62 years old. Today's date is 2/27/2009.

Can you imagine if he tried to apply for some of Obama's economic stimulus funds? Hopefully he wouldn't get those funds.

This is what it's all about, friends: think globally, act locally. I watch this beautiful moment of democracy in the heartland, and I hear an old, old tune:

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

I couldn't agree more. I have a post about Lynn on my blog. www.bertsbiz.blotspot.com. You nailed my sentiments exactly.. Nobody gave more physically to a team that had little chance of success than Lynn. I was 11 when that Monday Nighter was played and just watched it again on DVD. "Packers 10 greatest games. " When he was healthy, Dickey's arm was a BEAST!!!! You are not alone in your thinking.

Awesome! Dickey did a signing in EC a few years ago & I really treasure the moment I got to tell him how much I enjoyed watching him play. While Brett was the greatest Packer I've gotten to see, seeing a tribute to Dickey is great, because you know it isn't coming from a bandwagoner. Thanks for the great read.

Wow! This letter sums up my thoughts completely! I was 19 years old in 1983, living in New Jersey (born and lived there all my life), surrounded by Giants fans, and longing for the few times my favorite team and favorite player would be seen on TV - and the Monday Redskins game was one of those few times. I remember Merideth saying something like "ole Lynn is putting on a show tonight". Great memories, great player. Loved him for all the same reasons - toughest player ever!
