PROFILE
I am an experienced educational technologist who is continually searching for a progressive educational institution committed to flexible, student-centered, asynchronous course delivery. I am an educator with proven leadership abilities and troubleshooting skills. I am seeking to contribute my forward thinking ideas to a team that strives to move eduction forward and into the twenty-first century. My experiences include twelve years of educational technology, eight years of online curriculum development, specifically e-learning and web-development and extensive technology curriculum development.
EXPERIENCE
Director of Technology, — September 2007 — Present Provide supervision and support for the operation of the School District of the Menomonie area in all areas of voice, video and data networks. Assists building administrators and provide oversight of teachers and staff in the full utilization of the district's wide area networks, improve the instructional and management functions of the school district and support the continuing development of new curriculum. Responsible to develop the District Technology Plan, chair the District Technology Committee and provide leadership and direction when necessary. Provide assistance to teachers and administrators to facilitate the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. Manage the districts technology budget and oversee all purchases of new hardware and software. Oversee the five-person technology services depart to insure support for teachers, administrators, and staff on a daily basis and to assist with technology problems and concerns.
Information Systems Specialist, —
2006 - August 2007Webmaster for the district with a focus on Content Management and administration of the Moodle LMS e-learning environment. Work one-on-one with teachers to develop asynchronous, blended, and standalone courses. Responsible for the development of K-12 technology presentations and delivery for statewide educational conferences and events. Collaborate with district administrators to create e-learning staff development strategies. Provide Unix and Microsoft Windows system administration support and network security development. Offer additional desktop support for the Windows, Macintosh, and Linux computing environments.
Director of Technology, Rabat American School; Rabat Morocco — 2000-2006Responsible for the design and deployed a 100% Linux/Unix network. Created and managed a six person technology support department. Responsible for the creation and oversight of the technology budget. Curriculum coordinator for the K-12 technology curriculum. Network engineer and system administrator for the first four years of my tenure at the school. Project engineer for the in-house web-based software solution EduPrize. This is similar to the SkyWard software solution used within Wisconsin. Webmaster for the Moodle e-learning content environment. Taught the Movie and Television Production (MTP-100) course for grades 10-12.
Teacher / Technology Coordinator, Kyrene School District; Tempe, AZ — 1996-2000Developed curriculum for the Industrial Technology programs within the Kyrene School District. Taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students web development, graphic design, video and television production. Created and produced the daily television program; KMSTV. Became a teacher-trainer in the use of emerging technologies to be integrated across diverse curricula. Worked with the Technology Services department as a software developer for the Kyrene School District.
Sales Consultant, Saturn of Tempe; Tempe, AZ — 1992-1996Worked in the Sales Department for Lou Grubb Automotive Group. Became a Team Leader and Shift Supervisor. Trainer in Total Quality Management and later developed team building courses for the Automotive Group. Worked with the Promotions Departments to build publicity events for the public that promoted customer and retail facility partnerships. Worked on public charitable events for the dealership, and subsequently, was nominated for "The Lou Grubb Award." This award was given to the person within the Automotive Group that most exemplified the ability to promote a shared vision and team performance.
Full-time Student, Ohio University; Athens, OH — 1988-1992Worked a series of different jobs, very much in keeping with a full-time student's educational schedule. With the exception of one year working for MacDonald's as a shift manager, all of these positions were temporary, student employment.
Embassy Guard / Communications, USMC, World Wide — 1983-1988Trained at the FBI Academy and the Marine Security Guard Battalion; Quantico, VA. Primary responsibility was for the security of classified information and mission-critical personnel. Duties stations were: Zagreb, Yugoslavia (Croatia), U.S. Mission in Geneva, Switzerland, American Embassies in San Jose, Costa Rica. Prior to being assigned to Embassy Duty, I was certified as a Special Intelligence Communicator. Duties included working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or the DARPA Network. My primary responsibilities were encrypting sensitive or classified data. Maintained a Top Secret security clearance throughout the entire tour of duty.

SKILLSProficient in Serbo-Croatian having been trained by the Foreign Service Language Institute (FSLI) in 1987. I further added to my language skills by living in the country of Croatia for eighteen months. I speak conversational Spanish as well as conversational Arabic. My focus has been on Darija, the dialect of Morocco. I speak some conversational French and I had 2 years of Russian in college.
I am co-author of the book: “GuyRules, The Unspoken—and Previously Unrecorded— Rules That Govern Men’s Social Behavior”. Andrews McMeel Publishing, August 1, 1999. I co-created, and still maintain, the successful web site GuyRules.com. I have also written and produced 21 digital short films and currently have two films in post production.
In addition to the above introduction one of the main areas of interest is that I love to both read and to write. I was able to co-author a book with a couple of buddies of mine. Then name of the book is Guy Rules: The Unspoken - and Previously Unrecord
